Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP)

PHEP's purpose is to strengthen and enhance the capabilities of state, local, and territorial public health systems to respond effectiveley (e.g. mitigate the loss of life and reduce the threats to the community's health and safety) to evolving threats and other emergencies, and improve the readiness of the public health system to save lives during emergencies that exceed the day-to-day capacity and capability of the public health emergency response systems. Eligible entities include Local Governments, State Governments, and Special District Governments.
